Safety simplified
The complete solar lifting solution: a portable manual hoist that lets a two-person crew safely raise and lower solar panels and equipment up a standard extension ladder — built for residential and commercial solar installers.
Product
Engineered for performance, durability, and ease of use in solar installation environments.

The FUEL Solar Lift is a fully manual, portable hoist that runs on a standard aluminum extension ladder. It sets up in minutes, and an auto-locking pulley system keeps every lift controlled from the ground or the roof. Add the CarryALL attachment and the same lift sends inverters, tools, and racking up the same ladder as the panels — one complete system for the whole install, not just the modules.

About
We design practical tools for real job sites. Engineered and built with care, and driven by the needs of the people who use them.
Who We Are
The FUEL Solar Lift is engineered and manufactured in Calgary, Alberta, Canada by FUEL Innovation Design & Manufacturing Inc. FUEL holds a Permit to Practice with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) and operates under a Quality Management System (QMS). Along with developing and commercializing our own products, we are a trusted provider of fee-for-service product design, engineering, development, and manufacturing services in various sectors.
How We Got Here
We didn't plan to disrupt residential solar installs, but the FUEL Solar Lift is doing just that. Despite decades of solar panel progress, rooftop lifting tools remain limited. Power hoists are costly and impractical for small jobs, while existing manual options can't lift more than panels, leaving many to haul gear up ladders by hand. In 2021, a major Canadian installer asked us for a safer, simpler solution. The result: a portable, manual hoist that easily lifts panels and equipment up a standard extension ladder, manufactured and sold since 2023.

Testimonials
Hear from solar installation professionals who trust the FUEL Solar Lift.
Jordan Brooks
Rocky Mountain Solar
"Our company was fortunate to find the FUEL Solar Lift soon after it was launched in 2023. After trialing a unit we have now outfitted all of our crews with a FUEL Solar Lift. These lifts are extremely easy to use and simple to set up with our existing ladders saving us time and money on site.
The FUEL team is excellent to work with and always responsive to questions, service, and feedback on future product development."

Brennen Gagnon, Ben Balmer
Arc Electric and Solar
"The FUEL Solar Lift is very quick to set up, easy to use, and has saved us an immense amount of time and money. We have now eliminated equipment rental costs of boom lifts or zoom boom lifts to get the panels onto the roof of 1 or 2 story building system installations. The FUEL Solar Lift system has paid for itself within the first 1 or 2 system installations."

Ido Kerpel
Eco-Smart Energy Solutions
"After we heard about this new and safe way to lift solar panels up to a second story roof, it didn't take us long to decide to make the reasonable investment in the FUEL Solar Lift. It can be set up anywhere, including zero clearance sites and even on a balcony. After almost a year of using it regularly I can truthfully say that this new tool in our pouch has been worth every penny in time and energy savings."

Don't hesitate to contact us if you have any other questions!
Can I use the FUEL Solar Lift with my existing extension ladder?
The FUEL Solar Lift is verified to work with the following commercially available Grade 1 aluminum extension ladders:
- Featherlite FL2120 series
- Louisville AE3200 series
- Werner D1300-2 series
Can I use my ladder for climbing while the FUEL Solar Lift is set up?
Yes, absolutely. Simply move the trolley to hang off to the side of the ladder or disconnect the rope from the trolley using our quick connect system. That is the beauty of our system, the ladder is multi-purpose!
Where is the FUEL Solar Lift available?
The FUEL Solar Lift is available in both Canada and the United States.
If you would like to order a FUEL Solar Lift, or if you have any questions, please contact us.
Can I use the FUEL Solar Lift with a fiberglass extension ladder?
No, only because fiberglass extension ladders, as well as Grade 1A aluminum extension ladders, have a rail guide that blocks movement of the trolley.
Can I use the FUEL Solar Lift with a ladder standoff?
Yes, as long as the standoff is attached to the ladder rungs and not the side rails of the ladder.
Can I carry more than one solar panel at a time?
No, it is intentionally designed to be loaded and unloaded one panel at a time. It is so quick to hoist up a panel that you can easily have 40 panels lifted and attached to the racking in a few hours.
Do you have a trial program?
We do not have a trial program, but if you are not happy with your FUEL Solar Lift you can return it within two weeks of delivery for a full refund. We are proud to have a return-free track record so we are confident that you will love your FUEL Solar Lift!
What is the warranty period?
All components manufactured by FUEL include a limited warranty that covers defects in workmanship and materials for a period of 1 year from purchase under normal use. Third party components are covered by their respective manufacturer warranties.
