Which ladders work with the FUEL Solar Lift?
The FUEL Solar Lift runs on a standard Grade-1 aluminum extension ladder; the trolley rolls up and down the ladder's side rails. Below are the models it's verified with, and why fiberglass and Grade-1A aluminum ladders aren't compatible.
Verified compatible ladders
These commercially available Grade-1 aluminum extension ladders are tested and approved for use with the FUEL Solar Lift.
| Brand | Model | Grade |
|---|---|---|
| Featherlite | FL2120 | Grade 1 aluminum |
| Louisville | AE3200 | Grade 1 aluminum |
| Werner | D1300-2 | Grade 1 aluminum |

Why fiberglass and Grade-1A aluminum ladders don't work
The FUEL Solar Lift's trolley rolls along the side rails of the ladder. Fiberglass extension ladders — and Grade-1A aluminum extension ladders — carry a rail guide down those side rails. That guide obstructs the trolley and stops it from moving, so the lift can't run on them.
That's why compatibility comes down to the ladder, not the brand: a Grade-1 aluminum extension ladder with an unobstructed side rail is what the lift needs. The verified models above all meet that requirement.

Ladder compatibility FAQ
Which ladders are verified to work with the FUEL Solar Lift?
The FUEL Solar Lift is verified with commercially available Grade-1 aluminum extension ladders:
- Featherlite FL2120 series
- Louisville AE3200 series
- Werner D1300-2 series
Can I use a fiberglass extension ladder with the FUEL Solar Lift?
No. Fiberglass extension ladders, like Grade-1A aluminum ladders, have a rail guide down the side rails that blocks the trolley from moving along the ladder, so the lift can't run on them.
Why won't a Grade-1A aluminum ladder work?
Grade-1A aluminum ladders carry the same side-rail guide found on fiberglass ladders. The FUEL Solar Lift trolley needs an unobstructed rail to roll along, so the lift is only verified on Grade-1 aluminum ladders.
My ladder isn't on the list — will it still work?
The models above are the ones we've tested. The requirement is a Grade-1 aluminum extension ladder with no side-rail guide; if you're unsure about your ladder, contact us before you order and we'll help you check.
